How much would zero deductible health and dental insurance cost for a single, healthy 25 year old male?

Question by Joel: How much would zero deductible health and dental insurance cost for a single, healthy 25 year old male?
I’m active duty military and I’ve been thinking about getting out. However, I’m wondering how much of my health/dental insurance factors into my overall salary. I’m trying to put a dollar value to it before I look for a civilian job. I have no health problems and I’m 25 years old.

There is no such thing for dental. However, if you are not having any issues with your teeth and are looking to just have them cleaned and fluoride treatments every 6 months, you can go to the local dental school for that. Where I live, a cleaning, x-rays and fluoride are around $ 500 in a dental office, but the whole thing is $ 81 at the dental school. There is a dentist and 2 hygienist on staff so you are guaranteed a great cleaning!
As far as health insurance, I really don’t know of one without a deductible. The lowest deductible I had was $ 250 and it was around $ 300 a month. My employer covered it though. Most employers will offer health insurance to their full time employees at no cost. It’s when you add family insurance that it gets expensive. Our current family insurance price is around $ 500 a month.
PS-Thanks for all you do in service!! :)
